I can never pack lightly, I just have sadly not been blessed with that skill. All the fidly bits such as toiletries, chargers and jewellery tend to be my downfall!
But not this time! Finally, I've actually managed to pack lightly. Ok, so it still looks like I'm taking quite a lot for a five day holiday to Barcelona, but I have managed to reduce the pile of clothes on the left and you can't go on holiday with just one pair of shoes right?!
What I'm looking forward to the most (apart from the wonderful architecture, sunshine and chocolate dipped churros of course) is jumping into sea! As soon as I get to the beach I itch to get into the water, closing my eyes as I float on the surface, I imagine that I'm the only one there with only the sounds of the waves crashing against the sand to keep me company.
I went for a 50s style costume, with an ASOS bright red halter bikini top and Topshop high waisted bikini pants. I've packed my Skullcandy plum headphones, Primark sunglasses, Accessorise wedges and Jeffrey Eugenides' book The Virgin Suicides-it's not really typical summer holiday reading but recommended to me by Cat, I have been wanting to read it for quite a while.
I have decided to take my Longchamp Le Pilage bag as it has a zip and a flap so will hopefully deter pickpockets, plus it is waterproof and is a Mary Poppins bag so can carry quite a lot.
