I absolutely love markets.
The noisier, the smellier, the busier the better!
One of my favourite memories is of strolling through the fish market by the sea in Dar Es Salaam, the taste of salt water in the air, fish scales flying everywhere and people haggling for the best prices.
You certainly won't have to swerve any fish scales at Barcelona's market La Boqueria, however that's not to say that this market is any less dynamic or exciting.
Filled with vendors selling juicy local fruit, freshly baked breads, cured meats and traditional sweets, it's a great place to stock up on some great produce at a great price.
But be sure to get their early to bag yourself some delicious treats before they're snapped up!
After an early morning trip to the market, why not stop over at Petritxol for breakfast.
This cute little place becomes a little hub for locals, has very friendly staff, excellent pastries and oh, did I mention it's chocolate heaven!
The glass cabinets are filled with slices of chocolate cake, various types of chocolate biscuits and even boxes of chocolate you can buy and take home as a gift...or cheeky little treat for yourself of course.

We decided to go for a selection of sugar covered pastries and coffee to fill us up for the day ahead.
But we couldn't resist a chocolatey slice of heaven to go, which became our faithful companion (if only for a few minutes before we couldn't control ourselves any longer and dove straight in!) on our next adventure in the city.
Do you love wondering round markets too? What's the best market you've been to-I'd love to know?
